General:
The aim of this club is to promote the art of swimming and
to encourage youngsters (and the not so young!) to participate competitively in
domestic, inter-club, league open and County & Midland District competitions.
There are age restrictions on the youngest swimmers for
certain categories of competition especially inter-club, league and open
competitions, but the club does hold three domestic competitions every year!
These are:
Useful Points:
-
Club notice board is available at the Dolphin Centre
and Bromsgrove School Pool. They are used to communicate information on many
aspects of the club, especially important news.
-
Competitive swimming in League Galas starts at age 9 and
this is knows as the 'Junior League'.
-
Most galas are 'age as at 31st December, in year of
competition'. This is always more beneficial to the swimmer whose birthday
falls in the first half of the year.
-
Swimming club attire is readily available at the Swim
Shop at discounted prices for members.
Important Notes:
-
Regarding video cameras on the poolside, permission
needs to be granted by the Promoter of the gala. For further information,
see the Swimming Club notice board.
-
Bromsgrove Swimming Club has personal accident
insurance for all club members with Perkins Slade & Co, as recommended by
the ASA.
